World Converges in Taiwan for Machine Tool Manufacturing
As the world’s fourth largest machine tool exporter by value after Japan, Germany, and Italy, Taiwan’s machine tool industry is quickly attracting global industry giants to invest in Taiwan through either opening factory operations or partnering with local Taiwanese manufacturers.
Taiwan’s world class machine tool industry exports over 70% of its output, and over 30% of that output are exported directly to the rapidly growing Chinese market. This is one of the significant factors that are attracting global machine tool giants to Taiwan, and it in turn is shaping Taiwan into a global machine tool manufacturing center.
Some of the big names in the machine tool industry who are presently invested Taiwan include Germany’s DMG, Japan’s Mazak, Okuma, and Kuraki, Netherlands’ Hardinge, and China’s GSK.
The upward momentum of China’s factories approaching Taiwan for high quality machine tools and services has been accelerating in the past few years. Some of Taiwan’s foremost machine tool makers include Yeong Chin, Tongtai, Victor Taichung, Fair Friend, Chmer Edm, She Hong, and Leadwell.
